Good morning PS 287 family!! We are now at Week 3 in PE from home and I hope you're staying active. Remember, the activities I post have things you can do for each day of the week. We are focusing on our cardiovascular endurance this week, also known as our heart. Through out these activities I want you to try and monitor your heart beating. If you or your parents have an Apple Watch or FitBit, you can wear it during your activity and it will tell you how much your heart beats per minute.
Activity 1: Warm Up using the April Daily Physical Activity attachment. There is a new activity for you to do EVERYDAY OF THE WEEK! If you feel comfortable, you can send in pictures or videos of you participating in physical activity.
Activity 2: Please view the "Week 3 Calendar" attachment. When clicking it look for the Week 2 Section & Monday. There is a new activity for you to do EVERYDAY OF THE WEEK! If you feel comfortable, you can send in pictures or videos of you participating in physical activity.
Activity 3: Do 1 min of mountain climbers. Click on the video titled Exercise Library: Climbers.
Question: I want you to try and feel your heart beat for 1 minute. Put your hand against your chest, sit still quietly, and count how many times it beats. You can set up a timer. You can respond with the number of beats it did in 1 minute. For example, after I exercise, for one minute my heart usually beats 130 times.
